Remove the rest of the flooring boards in the same way disengaging the ends and then pushing the boards toward the wall. Place a clean rubber faced grouting float on. Remove the top layer of flooring material with a scraper or oscillating tool. A simple underlayment of foam sheeting is usually sufficient as a base for laminate planks.
