In this video i show how easy it is to remove popcorn ceiling texture. I didn t even remove or cover my washer and dryer from my laundry room. No more scraping the ceiling texture and allowing the debris to fall to the floor. Use a sprayer with plain water.

Popular back in the day popcorn ceilings were used to create texture as well as hide any imperfections. I had minimal mess. I perform the task in an 11 foot by 12 foot bedroom from start to finish in just over. For easier scraping and practically no dust during popcorn ceiling removal use a garden pump sprayer to mist the ceiling and let it soak in for about 15 minutes before scraping.

The spackle knife easily scrapes off the popcorn ceiling. Very little mess or clean afterwards. Grab a 6 inch spackle knife and duct tape it to the end of your shop vacuum. This post was great but if you tape a wide putty knife to the end of a wide end attachment for a shop vac all the mess goes right in the vacuum.

Tape a larger scraper to a shop vac and go at it. Attach popeeze to your shop vacuum hose and a pole to make the difficult task of removing popcorn ceilings much easier. Popeeze generates significantly less mess to clean up than conventional methods. To remove it we moistened the ceiling with a pump sprayer and scraped the icky oatmeal.

Only give it a light misting too much water could damage the drywall or loosen the joint tape.
